Overview of Commercial Unlock Requirements
This section only contains information on the minimum unlock requirements for plot classes. For important information about the plot classes, see Plots-and-Plans.

¶ Requirements and upgrading
You can start using commercial plots after they are unlocked in the Sim Settlements 2 quest New Plots on the Block.
Additionally, there are settlement requirements you will need to reach to build and upgrade commercial plots. Once you have put down a commecial plot in the build menu it will not start building itself until you have five or more Level 1 residential plots in that settlement. Plots that support more than one settler still only count as a single plot for this requirement.
If you are running out of room in the settlement, try smaller plots - or you can change the requirement to Population in the settings. Note that beds made in workshop mode count as Level 1 residential plots for the purposes of this requirement.
There are extra requirements for upgrading commercial plots as well.
- To upgrade a plot to level 2 you will need 8 or more level 2 residential plots in the settlement.
- To upgrade a plot to level 3 you will beed 11 or more level 3 residential plots in the settlement
