¶ Walkthrough
- Speak to Alex Powell.
- Follow Alex to meet the family.
- Speak again to Alex (optional).
- Speak to Katie (optional).
- Speak to Julia.
- Julia tells you that Nessie, their brahmin is missing and asks you to search for her at Sunshine Tidings.
a. You may be able to convince Julia to leave Nessie
b. You can chose not to find the brahmin. - If you have decided to search for Nessie, when you exit the cave, Katie will call out for you to wait. She appears behind you just outside the cave.
- Katie tells you that her friend, Franklin has taken Nessie.
a. You may decide not to believe Katey and search for the brahmin at Sunshine Tidings. Searching for the Nessie at Sunshine Tidings, you may find a dead brahmin and report back to Julia.
b. If you decide to believe her, she gives you a note to give to Franklin so that he knows you are her friend. - If you have decided to believe Katey, search for Nessie at Franklin the Martian's Place.
- Follow your quest marker to Franklin's.
- Enter the cellar.
- Look for clues as to where Nessie might be.
Clue to find
Read the note to Katey on the bulletin board.- Follow the quest marker to find Nessie.
- Have a conversation with Franklin. You may:
a. Ask Franklin to join you.
b. Rob Franklin
c. Don't ask Franklin to join you, or kill him. - Report back to the Powell's.
- Speak with Katie to complete the quest.
- They all depart for the settlement you have selected (including Franklin if he was recruited).
¶ Notes
- Franklin's place is near the Ranger Cabin.
- Nessie is found in a large container at Wicked Shipping Fleet Lockup.
- Alex Powell, Julia Powell, Katie Powell and Franklin are Unique Settlers.
- Your new recruits will appear in your settlement after 24 in-game hours have passed.
- Some players have reported pathing problems with Alex Powell while following him to the family's home area in the cave. Suggest giving him some time to find his way, or reload to a previous save where you entered the cave.
- Some players have reported that Katey doesn't appear when exiting the Fungal Cave when they are with a custom companion (Heather Casdin). Dismissing your companion before exiting the cave should allow Katey to appear correctly.
- Completion of this quest unlocks a new 2x2 Commercial Custom store building plan called Franklin's Martian Memorabilia
