I was born in Oregon, US and then moved to California when I was 2 so... mostly from California! Hopefully someday I can return to the Pacific NorthWest.
Modding is obviously the biggest one. I play other video games as well. I'm also a guitarist of over 10 years and I like to cook. Particularly BBQ, I love to BBQ for everyone lol.
The biggest one I play, probably too much, is Apex Legends. I'm a Wattson main of over 12,000 kills so yes... I do play too much lol. The other time consumer I play is Astroneer. Other than that I play some VR games like Pistol Whip and Gorn. I haven't played Fallout 76 in a while but I do want to get back into it. Oh also Fallout 4 VR, that's amazing.
¶ What is your favorite thing to work on for SS2? and why?
First person animations. I find those the most engaging, as they are for the player of course. It's right there and happening directly on the screen and has the potential to blow the player away. Third person animations are fun too but aren't as personal so that's why first person is my favorite!
¶ What was the most difficult thing you worked on in
That would have to be multi actor animations. That can be all third person or even incorporate first person into it. We did a scene in Chapter 2 of Sim Settlements 2 that took a lot of patience and effort to get working properly that required multiple actors doing animations I made. I hadn't tried it before but I am glad that it did end up looking really nice.
¶ Do you have a story about working on SS2 that you'd like to share?
Hmm, I'm not sure I have any particular story. I really like whenever we just hang out in the dev channels and stream whatever we are working on and talk throughout the day. Cynical Bounce would be drawing concept art, or just actual art to be in game. Sirick is a riot and is always trying, and succeeding, to get her to draw other things haha. People come and go as the team has members from all around the world. It's all fun times.
Right now it's to keep modding. I want to get into the games industry as an Animator so I think continuing to animate for Sim Settlements will definitely help get me the experience needed and further sharpen my animating abilities.
